Last week one of my client send a website to do SEO. Once I open the website and checked it properly the website is built with the Squarespace Online website builder.
I did all the important on-page SEO for the site and today I am going to share all the Squarespace SEO tips to a rank website.
Squarespace is a complete website builder the online tool to create the different type of awesome websites. Squarepress have clean and good looking design templates. But the problem comes when we are going to do SEO for our websites which use Squarespace.
To Rank a website on one of the top search engines Google, Bing / Yahoo and Yandex we need to do Search engine optimization (SEO) for that website.

Squarespace websites come already with SEO friendly and user-friendly themes, but we have to do some tweaks in our design or template for improving SEO on Squarespace.
1) Find Keyword Related to Website Niche
Before creating your Squarespace website or blog you have to find the keywords for a blog you want to rank on. Find low competitions keywords and with good volume searches per month.

2) Select SEO And User-Friendly Squarespace theme
The second step for ranking a website is must use a SEO friendly and User-friendly theme. SEO Friendly Theme means where in each page you have the option to add title H1, H2, H3 and paragraph with images.
Do not use the theme which has only layouts design with the images and there is no option to add title and paragraph.
3) Add squarespace Website to Google/Bing/Yandex Webmaster Tools:
The next step is to add the blog to Google, Bing and Yandex webmaster tools. If you want to index your blog on these top three search engine and drive more traffic to a site, then it’s very important to add the blog to webmaster tool of search engines.
I. Go to Google webmaster tool and sign up with Gmail account
II. Add your website and get the HTML meta tags
III. Enter the meta tags on your Squarespace website
Google webmaster let you know any error on the website as per Google point of view, and we can submit our website sitemap which tells the Google all number of pages on our site.
4) Add Google Analytics to Squarespace Blog/Website
Google Analytics is a Google platform to let the blog administrator know about the traffic they received. It’s important to keep track of the visitor’s device and country. Google analytics help us that from which country our viewer are searching most our blog.
Following are the simple steps to add Google analytics to Squarespace blog.
I. In the Home menu go to setting.
II. Click advance and then click external services
III. Now copy the Google analytic code form Google Analytics dashboard
IV. Paste your website analytics code and done
V. It will take 24-48 hours to fetch all the visitors data.
5) Submit Squarespace sitemap to Google Webmaster:
Squarespace creates XML sitemap by default for your website. You just have to submit it to Google webmaster tool. Following are the simple steps to add the sitemap.
I. Go to Google webmaster tool
II. Now go to crawl option from the right sidebar menu and click on sitemap
III. Enter the sitemap like www.yourdominname.com/sitemap.xml

6) Use Main Keywords in Your website title
After creating the complete website you have to change the website title. Check the title name option in your Squarespace dashboard and change it by entering the main keywords.
Do not simply enter your website name or business name put the main keywords for which you want your website to be shown on Google search result.
7) Give keywords Rich Images name
Squarespace has very easy option to change a name of the images after uploading. Simply change the name of images and give it alt name by putting the main and primary keywords.
Images ranking is also important for wallpapers, photography and portfolio types of websites. There is a high number of chances to get organic search by ranking images in Google search images result.
8) Write a catchy Meta description for your website
Your website Meta description has no effect on SEO ranking, but it’s important for getting traffic. Your site title and description are show in the search result of Google so try to write it descriptive and catchy, so a user can attract to click on a website.
9) Change blog permalink/ URL structure
Always use your focus or main keywords in your website permalinks or URLs. Keywords rich permalinks are easy to remember, and it also helps in site rankings. Check the image below to setup it properly.
10) Link All Social Media Account of website with Squarespace
If you have already created the social media account for your website link them all to Squarespace website. It will help the viewer to connect with you on a different social platform.
Add your website URL in the website section of all social media account it will also help in boost website ranking and get you’re a backlink form high authority website.
11) Write Unique, Quality and Great Content
Once you complete the website design next step is to publish unique content. Write lengthy and unique content about your keywords to rank it easily.
Don’t use copy content from other website or any software generated content in your website. It will lead the website to Google penalty.
Always published article regularly and share on different social media platform. Google will consider that website is genuine and is updating regularly.

12) Create Quality Link to Squarespace Site
Wait don’t be in a hurry. Once you have published the good amount of content and your blog is one month or two months old, it’s time to create quality backlinks on quality sites.

13) Decrease Bounce Rate of Blog
One of the important factors in SEO is bounce rate the higher the bounce rate it means that after visiting the blog the viewers leave it suddenly. There must be some engaging content, so a user will spend more time on a blog.
Try to add images, Videos and info graphic in your blog posts to increase the user spending time and decrease the bounce rate. SEO Expert says less than 70% bounces rate is considered good.
14) Add Original business Name, Address, Phones in Contact Section
If you have a local business and doing local SEO, try to add the same business name, address, and phone on the entire local listing sites. Give proper Name, Number, Email address in map and contact section.
